Du Fu is a great poet whose glory enlightens all the ages. Du Fu’s Cottage, his former residence during his stay in Chengdu, has become a shrine to Chinese Literature. His patriotic thoughts and lofty sentiments has inspired and encouraged later generations with great propel and cohesion. The Cottage has been admired by people for over one thousand years, and it has become a cultural appeal of worldwide reputation. Ever since the founding of People’s Republic of China, leaders of CPC and national government have offered great concern about this museum. Top leaders such as Mao Zedong, Deng Xiaoping, and Jiang Zemin, have paid visits here or sent special orders for protection. Their deeds have marked an honorable page in the history of the Cottage.
